Caribe Real<\/a>’s main dining room menu rotates nightly through an assortment of menus that are shared across their ships, usually coordinated with the ports they are sailing to and the tastes of the main demographics on board the ships. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

That said, I’ve seen many of the same menus across multiple ships in different ports so don’t expect to always have the same menu in the same place or on the same ship. This truffle menu though was sampled aboard Resplandor de los mares<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nota:<\/strong> A principios de 2019, Caribe Real<\/a> has released new menu’s so it is unlikely you will still find this menu onboard. It does, however, still represent the kind of food you can expect to find in the main dining room on Caribe Real<\/a> cruceros.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

El men\u00fa de trufas<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Los misteriosos hongos silvestres conocidos como trufas son apreciados por su rico sabor, supuestas cualidades afrodis\u00edacas y naturaleza esquiva. Los que se consideran los mejores crecen alrededor de las ra\u00edces de ciertos \u00e1rboles en \u00e1reas rurales de Italia y Francia y son descubiertos por perros altamente entrenados.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Por peso, estos tub\u00e9rculos raros son uno de los alimentos m\u00e1s caros del mundo. Las delicadas virutas adornan los platos de pasta, elevan las preparaciones de papa al estado gourmet y protagonizan una deliciosa crema pastelera. Un manjar como ning\u00fan otro.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

While truffles don’t exactly star across this truffle themed menu, nor are they even in the chef’s inspiration, this is one of our favourite menu’s with a lot of interesting dishes. The only thing is, there is no vitality main meal, only starters and desserts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

For starters, wifey went for the chilled blueberry and yoghurt soup, and I got the vegetable samosa. We both always like chilled fruit soups, and this one is as delicious as they come. The vegetable samosas were also really, really good. I wouldn’t have minded one or two more, but I suppose I didn’t need them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Luego, para platos principales, wifey fue con el pappardelle y guisantes frescos sin jam\u00f3n. Tengo la piccata de calabac\u00edn. S\u00ed, fue una cena tipo italiana, y estuvo buena. Realmente bueno. Realmente muy bien.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Menu de postres<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Of course, not being too full at the end of your main meal is important, you don’t want to miss out on dessert!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

El postre siempre es una elecci\u00f3n dif\u00edcil, as\u00ed que tenemos tres platos entre nosotros. Wifey pidi\u00f3 el bud\u00edn de pan de chocolate caliente que ten\u00eda su nombre por todas partes. Mientras tanto, sab\u00eda que me gustar\u00eda el parfait de coco, pero la tarta de merengue de maracuy\u00e1 sonaba bastante atractiva, as\u00ed que tambi\u00e9n la obtuve. Y s\u00ed, los compartimos todos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

I’m not normally a big one for bread puddings, but I have to admit, I really enjoyed this one. The warm, gooey chocolate made this dish exceptional.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then there is the passion fruit meringue tart. I’ll be honest, I was a little disappointed with this one. Mostly with the pastry to be honest. It wasn’t bad, it just wasn’t amazing either. The filling was yum, though I personally would have liked it to be a little tarter. That said, this is on the vitality menu, so it should be a bit lighter, and I’d say it does fit that description.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then, of course, the coconut parfait. This was my backup in case I didn’t like the tart. It didn’t disappoint. I love parfaits, and this one was balanced really nicely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
