Chill’d Cafe and Bar is a new dining venue that recently opened in Lake Macquarie. You can find it in the heart of the township of Morisset, beside Dominos where “The Sset” previously lived. This is in behind the Morisset Police Station, near Morisset Square.<\/p>\n

The location is convenient, and while street parking is limited, the convenience of the Morisset Square carpark almost across the road gives it a great advantage over the cafes in the main street. We decided to drop in for lunch this week and give them a try.<\/p>\n

Inside, the cafe is very inviting and the menu has a great balance between meat, vegetarian and vegan options, as well as some “cake shakes” for those that like to go a little crazy with their drink\/dessert!<\/p>\n

What did we have for lunch?<\/h2>\n

For drinks, we had a mocha in a mug and banana smoothie.<\/p>\n

For our meals, I had the vegan burger. and wifey had vegetarian pasta.<\/p>\n

Both were delicious. I especially loved that they used a really good bun for the burger and it was nicely toasted. The house-made chickpea patty was super tasty and reminiscent of falafels. I would have liked a little bit of sauce on the burger to add some moisture, but it’s definitely one of the better burgers I’ve had in Morisset.<\/p>\n

The vegetarian pasta was yum too!<\/p>\n

What about dessert?<\/h2>\n

We often don’t get dessert when we go out, but there were a lot of delicious looking options in the cake fridge, including many vegan and gluten-free choices.<\/p>\n

We decided to purchase a “vegan almond gaytime” slice and a piece of lemon cheesecake.<\/p>\n

The almond gaytime slice was yum, but the cheesecake is amazingly silky smooth with a subtle lemon flavour. So gooooood!<\/p>\n

Final thoughts<\/h3>\n

Being a cafe, they don’t open in the evenings, but if you are looking for a solid breakfast, brunch, lunch or afternoon tea option in the Morisset area, Chill’d is going to be one of my top picks and a definite recommendation for our Airbnb<\/a> visitors.<\/p>\n
